be your own PET “Fire Department” CD
The CD version of the Rough Trade/Infinity Cat release “Fire Department” b/w “Take That Walk”, with an additional track, “Hillmont Avenue”.
Long out of print, but we just found a few. Yours for 5 bucks!
Here’s a review from when it was released: “Hold onto your hats musical opinionists. Like a hurricane blowing past all hurdles to teenage expression Be Your Own PET emerge from a rock ‘n’ roll fragment of Nashville weaving a fire trail of concise riffs and knowingly stylish havoc. Swiftly gaining acclaim and derision from all quarters, they tore up the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury with a seething set of posture and attitude that was enough to lure a dying man into the horde at the front. While an obvious reference point, Courtney Love, could never quite you feel get past an inkling of drama school pretension, BYOP’s Jemina Pearl oozes a direct, “innocent” charm of pure vivacity that could speak to the whole divide of modern music fans, then divide them into further segments. ‘Fire Department’, all squeals and cartoonish vitriol, makes a hell of a jagged noise led into the spectacular by the mellifluous wail of the jewel Jemina. Evoking memories of post-punk pioneers Life Without Buildings, it’s an anarchically melodic whirl of post-rock guitar and stream-of-consciousness lyrical bile that less than politely advises us to take notice. The B-sides writhe at a similar temperature. ‘Take That Walk’ is a thrilling, ebbing and brooding musical piece, the guitars rising out of a repetitive drum intro in fits of grace, and Jemina showing the real soulful, song-side of her voice belting out a lustful tune fit for a rock ‘n’ roll Patsy Cline. ‘Hillmont Avenue’ is over in a brilliant spasmodic fit, and thus the band let us dream of an industry-coveted impending debut album – a lot more will be said.”
be your own PET “Not Rocket Science” 12″
Black vinyl version of “Not Rocket Science”, byoP’s last release on Infinity Cat (You can buy the lim/ed swirly vinyl version for two bucks more). A sweet 12″ with a crazy cover, it represents the first sessions for byoP, capturing their youthful exuberance for the first time.
It contains the UK hit “Damn Damn Leash”, which launched them on their way.
The New York Times gushed: This gawky, squawky young Nashville punk band just released a messy but exhilarating two-song single. During a two-minute tantrum called “Damn Damn Leash,” the guitarist Jonas Stein bashes out some compressed chords, while the singer Jemima Abegg spits and shivers out the lyrics through clenched teeth, delivering one of the year’s most entertaining kiss-offs: “You’ve got me on a leash/ A damn damn leash/ And it’s hard enough to be my damn self.” The A-side contains six songs, and the B-side contains the same six, but in reverse. Recorded by Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Lou Reed), and produced by Angelo (Kings Of Leon, Warren Zanes) and Robert Ellis Orrall (Cake Bake Betty, Taylor Swift). The songs were mixed by Orrall and Jacquire King (Norah Jones, Modest Mouse).

Originally sold as an import in a few US shops for as much as 30 bucks, we are making it available to fans and collectors for just 10 dollars. You may want to buy more than one.
be your own PET S/T debut CD UK version
The debut CD from be your own PET, dise project of Jake and Jamin (JEFF The Brotherhood), Jonas Stein (Turbofruits) and Jemina Pearl.
“Delivering terse and rambunctious sub-three minute blasts of punk energy and musical creativity beyond their teenage years, Be Your Own Pet have arrived with their eponymous debut album. Heralded as the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs, this is a fuzzy, hook-laden noise pop record that will have you grinning from ear to ear with every listen, with vocals from indie pin-up Jemina at times in flames, and at others achingly sweet. Album highlights include the screwball riffs of ‘Wildcat!’, the new wave rock of single ‘Adventure’, blink and you’ll miss it perfection of ‘Let’s Get Sandy (Big Problem)’ and the unashamed gallivant of ‘Love Your Shotgun’. Be Your Own Pet is a street party of artful punk and beauty and an incredibly strong debut album to herald a revolution.”
“There’s the authentic salty whiff of classic garage-band punk spirit about Be Your Own PET, a quartet of Nashville teens whose debut album burns up 15 tracks in a little over half an hour. With hardly a pause, and barely any change in tempo, they manage to sum up the energy and frustrations of teenage life with a slim portfolio of razor-sharp guitar slashes and brutal beats. Vocalist Jemima Pearl doesn’t so much sing as blurt out the lyrics, which perch on the cusp of decipherability just long enough to leave the occasional astringent phrase rattling round your head: “Oh I love you like the studs from my cowhide settee”; “We will vacation, you can be my parasol”. “I’ve never had this much fun/ I’ve never had my own gun,” she wails delightedly in the opening “Thresher’s Flail” , and you don’t doubt her for a moment: there’s a berserk, hysterical edge to tracks like “Wildcat!”, “Bunk Trunk Skunk” and ” Fuuuuuun” that recalls the Riot Grrrl heyday of Bikini Kill and Babes in Toyland, but without any of the ideological baggage that dragged them down. Just the pure, unadulterated euphoria of building your own world of fun.”
be your own PET swirly vinyl “Not Rocket Science” 12″”
This is the swirly vinyl version of “Not Rocket Science”, byoP’s last release on Infinity Cat. A sweet 12″ with a crazy cover, it represents the first sessions for byoP, capturing their youthful exuberance for the first time.

Cake Bake Betty – To The Dark Tower CD
British mag Supersweet says “The musical vehicle of multi-instrumental New York songwriter Lindsay Powell, Cake Bake Betty’s music is an exercise in both the beautiful and the bizarre. Inspired predominantly by old mariner songs, folk classics and blues standards amongst many other influences, the tracks have an off-kilter appeal and energy which most artists would struggle to replicate.”
Lindsay now plays in Festival and Chicago based GA’AN.
CY BARKLEY AND THE WAY OUTSIDERS “SO BAD” LP
Cy Barkley and the Way Outsiders are back with a scorching slab of black vinyl that will take you back to a time when punk was punk. Brooklyn Vegan says “Since the unfortunate passing of Jay Reatard, there has been a void in the hearts of (punks) everywhere. Enter Cy Barkley, a man straddling the line between garage and punk with a black Gibson in hand”. We love Cy, so does Nashville, and so does Get bent: “Cy Barkley is the man to know in Nashville, TN. Fronting both Cy Barkley and the Way Outsiders and the hardcore punk band Slammers, he’s like the Kevin Bacon of the underground scene in Nashville—it probably only takes three moves to get to him” Can ya smell the bacon sizzling? This one will fry your ears.
DENNEY AND THE JETS “Killin’ Machine” ECONOLINE 7″
Volume 3 in our “ECONOLINE” 7″ series is “Killin’ Machine” by Denney and the Jets. This is their first vinyl release and its a real hell of a slab! You may recognize “Pain Pills” from our spring MP3 sampler or if you got one of the 100 copies of Denney’s cassette “Devil’s Harvest” that is now sold out. These are hand numbered and stamped in an edition of 350!
DIARRHEA PLANET “LOOSE JEWELS” CASSETTE
It is no coincidence that this cassette will fit in a stocking. Christmas stocking, girlfriends stocking, guy who is stocking you – running out of ideas here. Well anyway we have 50 and it’s the cassette version of this:
“Its bouncy guitars are underpinned by some thunderous bass — think the Romantics,
taken on a desert rock acid trip with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme.” – Spin
“It’s hard to say who was having more fun during Diarrhea Planet’s set—the band or
their audience….Diarrhea Planet was the only band of the day to get an encore, thanks to
their utter devotion to keeping the crowd enthralled.” – Village Voice
“..this grungey Nashville sextet is churning out full-tilt, pit-soaked, garage party rock
and roll. Frontman Hodan Dickie’s vocals sounding like a burlier Joey Ramone with a
mouthful of novocaine, only adds to the awesomeness. That and the fact that they sound
like their having more fun than the rest of us.” – My Old Kentucky Blog
“Loose Jewels is exactly what you would expect to hear on a Diarrhea Planet album.
It’s 19 minutes and 15 seconds of loud-as-hell anthems to drinking beer and skating with
your friends…The greatest practical joke Diarrhea Planet has ever played is naming
themselves something so reprehensibly stupid while being so ridiculously talented.” –
Nashville Scene
“Diarrhea Planet is a refreshing blast of nasty beautiful scuzz in a world of where hi-fi is
the new lo-fi. We are all the better for their presence in our lives.” – Impose
DIARRHEA PLANET “Loose Jewels” LP+DNLD
We are proud to announce the release of “Loose Jewels”, the debut from one of Nashville’s favorite bands, Diarrhea Planet! SPIN Magazine raves about the first single, “Warm Ridin’”: “The track is a taut, ’70s-style rocker, the sort of jam meant to be blasted on the system of an old Camaro that’s barreling down the spine of suburbia. Its bouncy guitars are underpinned by some thunderous bass — think the Romantics, taken on a desert rock acid trip with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme.”
“I’m not sure when I first saw Diarrhea Planet play live, but I know what really struck me about them was how much fun they had playing,” Jake Orrall tells SPIN. “The music completely reflects that image too, just a bunch of bros having a great time. It’s a beautiful thing.”
Ham1 – The Underground Stream LP + DNLD
It comes with a free digital download of the entire LP!!! We are proud to release Ham1’s third album almost exactly a year after their last release, the lo-fi, eclectic and winning The Captain’s Table (on Orange Twin). Like its predecessor, The Underground Stream is a blend of surf rock instrumentals, sleepy vocals, and surrealist lyrics, as Willingham is joined by the usual Ham1 suspects: Eric Harris (Elf Power, Olivia Tremor Control), Jacob Morris, and Chris Sugiuchi, with additional contributions from Lucas Jensen (Venice is Sinking) and Jason NeSmith (Casper & the Cookies), who helped engineer the album.
Heavy Cream “Danny” CD
A lot of people out there have asked if there would be a CD version of “Danny”. Your wish is our command. The critically acclaimed debut album is now on CD. Now we wish you’d order one. Your turn!
“Heavy Cream play a set of youthful Stooges-meets-the-Runaways-style dirty proto-punk that recalls the grit of everything that made 1979 an awesome year” (Creative Loafing) “Man, we will never get tired of these babies. I mean, do we really need to write a review of their show? Fine. It ruled. They rocked. So primal. We love them. Go see them. Blah blah blah blah blah…. Seriously, Heavy Cream, you are the apple of Nashville’s eye.” (Nashville’s Dead) Nashville’s Heavy Cream plays aggressive, catchy punk anchored by an intense frontwoman who looks like Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby, but wails like Glenn Danzig on Walk Among Us. It’s awesome. (Little Advances)
HEAVY CREAM “SUPER TREATMENT” CD
Been waiting for that special new CD that will change everything? Well, here it is. Super Treatment! The new album from Heavy Cream. Just when you were beginning to think the future of underground music belonged to MicroKorgs and looped nonsense, Nashville’s Heavy Cream are back with a new album to remind you that the two and a half minute rock and roll blast is alive and well.
The new album (produced by Ty Segall and recorded by Eric Bauer in San Francisco) doesn’t have a song longer than three minutes, but every track on Super Treatment packs the garage punk punch Heavy Cream created on 2010’s Danny and then some.
With Tiffany Minton now on drums, and guest bass player Seth Sutton, Super Treatment was given the Segall Treatment with songs like ’79 and Prison Shanks clear examples of the bands decision to soak their songs in distortion and fuzz.

“The three ladies and one guy that comprise Heavy Cream have crafted a record that is a savage, pounding slice of garage punk. This is some vicious, attitude-laden music that makes a lot of recently-released garage seem weak and tepid in comparison. Guitarist Mimi’s fuzz tones are massive and bludgeoning, drawing inspiration not just from the The Stooges, but from ancient metal like Blue Cheer. It’s the type of sound that blows out eardrums and amps, and definitely works in giving the band a leg up on the competition. It also helps that lead vocalist Jessica has the right snotty tone to her voice, while drummer Tiffany and bassist Seth maintain a blistering rhythm. In a genre where many of their peers are toned down copies of a copy, it’s cool to see that some are still keeping it wild and woolly. Hopefully, they won’t tone it down anytime soon, because that would wreck this awesome sound they have.” -VERBICIDE
HEAVY CREAM ”DANNY” w/ download coupon
It’s back in stock! Heavy Cream’s wicked and perfectly pissa debut album “Danny”! Got the download coupon inside so y’all can digitize it, can ya dig it? And it includes an insert lyric poster. But that’s not all. ‘Cuz now it’s on half and half split down the middle two color swirly vinyl!
“When most of us think of Nashville, we think of sticky hot summers, leaky old trucks, tall grass and charming Southern delights we can eat on a wooden stick. But we’ve got our eye on the grimy, garage-punk outfit Heavy Cream. Heavy Cream kick started their career with their 2010 debut LP smash Danny, which sent the band to immediate underground-darling status. The record presented the band as a powerhouse of catchy, sing-a-long punk with scrambled melodies and playful beats.” – HAERTY MAGAZINE
HEAVY CREAM w/ THOSE DARLIN’S SPLIT 7″
Hey! We got a nice surprise when we scored a box of these limited edition split 7″s featuring Heavy Cream and Those Darlin’s. Released jointly by Infinity Cat and Oh Wow Dang Records, it was a tour-only release- but we scooped some up for Infinity Cat’s loyal customers. High quality picture sleeve, and an interesting twist: the A + B side labels are on the wrong sides. Hey, it happens. Pick one up today, cuz when they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
“Nashville garage country gals (and guy) Those Darlins and fellow rock neighbors Heavy Cream have put together a solid 7” split in time for some autumn shenanigans. With a charming mixture of punk rock moxie and effeminate sass, Jesse Darlin drives “Summer’s Dead” and on “Prison Shanks”, Heavy Cream hit hard and fast behind a fuzz-happy wall of noise.” (LO-PIE)
“Heavy Cream have a song called “Prison Shanks” that’s hard as steel and impossible to not headbang to, and Those Darlins hit the garage-rock nail on the head with their new song “Summer’s Dead.” (THE STRANGER)
“Tennessee troupe Those Darlins makes convincingly and enjoyably bratty girl-group/Runaways-style rock & roll. Nashville’s Heavy Cream sets the mood with scuzzy, rollicking garage rock.” (TIME OUT NEW YORK)

INFINITY CAT EMBROIDED HAT
We’ve been wearing these for a couple years now, and now it’s time to share the height of fashion with you! They’re black, one size fits all (adjustable Velcro closure), and these caps feature washed fabric for a broken-in look. Made from a soft, light weight 100% cotton washed twill, this low profile, unconstructed cap provides a professional, yet casual look. That last sentence comes direct from the manufacturer, and that’s why it sounds so professional. But trust us, this hat is cool and casual!
INFINITY CAT FANCY POLO SHIRT
This snazzy black polo shirt with white embroidery is the same one worn around the office. Not because we have to, because we want to! Our supplier describes it like this: “When two strands of silky, naturally strong extra-long staple Pima yarn are twisted together into one, it is truly the beginning of something special. Cloth knit from two-ply yarn has more of the surface area exposed to the skin. As a result, the cloth feels softer, breathes better, and, of course, is much stronger. Our yarn is made from ringspun, combed 100% Pima cotton and knit into a pique fabric. The handsome classic polo we make from that fabric is a shirt of virtually unequaled durability and comfort. Features include a ribbed knit collar, fully banded neck, banded sleeves, and generous 3″ side vents. This is among our highest quality shirts and, to think, it all started with two strands of yarn!”
Sure, the description is a bit over the top. But we wanted to make sure you knew this is a super high quality shirt. Gonna make you feel good!

JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD “LIVE AT THIRD MAN”
This is the totally kick-ass JEFF The Brotherhood Live at Third Man Records 12″, recorded straight to tape, and boy does it sound amazing. Incredible fat warm recording of an as-then high point performance by the brothers Orrall. They’ve dressed it up a bit in a white sleeve with hand-glued xerox, with an additional plastic outer sleeve. Here’s the setlist: U Got The Look, Heavy Damage, Mellow Out, I’m a Freak, Heavy Days, Shredder, Bone Jam, Dreamscape, The Tropics, Mind Ride, Beastmaster 420. Played by JEFF The Brotherhood, Produced by Jack White, Recorded by Vance Powell, and enjoyed by all.

JEFF The BROTHERHOOD “UPSTAIRS AT UNITED” 12″
It sold out across the country on Record Store Day, and we’ve got the last of them. When we sell out, they are gone, gone, gone!
On October 18th, 2011, JEFF The Brotherhood were joined by William Tyler (Tompkins Square), Loney Hutchins (Cleft Records) and Joey Plunket in recording Volume 3 of the Upstairs at United series. Each song in this session was recorded in a single take direct to ¼ inch tape then cut at 45 RPM for the ultimate listening experience.
JEFF The Brotherhood, the sibling duo of Jake & Jamin Orrall show their prog rock side on this recording. While the recording consists of only three songs those songs totalled enough time that they rocked out until they literally ran out of tape (as can be heard at the end of ”In Space No One Can Hear You Scream, Part II’).’ While traditionally a two piece, JEFF The Brotherhood, was joined in this session by William Tyler on guitar, Loney Hutchins on keys and crazy space sounds, and Joey Plunket on bass. The recording features an 11 minute version of tour favorite ”I’m A Freak” (Wicked Lady), an 11 minute cover of Hawkwind’s ”Master Of The Universe” and the 8 minute improvisational jam ”In Space No One Can Hear You Scream”.
JEFF The Brotherhood “WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS” CD
Now available on CD! “We Are The Champions”, where JEFF The Brotherhood “back up the balls of this album title”, according to David Fricke in Rolling Stone
“Jeff the Brotherhood’s style-sampling punk can be viewed in several ways: as sharpened, gutted psychedelic-rock jams, or as reverb-soaked pop meditations with some blues shuffled in. Whatever you call it, it’s compelling, face-melting stuff on the duo’s latest, We Are the Champions. Also on the bill are Danish punk revivalists Iceage.” says Time Out New York.
“Call them old-fashioned, but JTB knows how to rock. They just don’t make bands like JEFF the Brotherhood anymore. Or, rather, bands don’t make themselves the way these guys did anymore. In an age when groups are signed and hyped off demos three practices into their careers and dismissed by the time their first album is out, this Nashville psych-punk duo, brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall, self-released five records of Southern-fried psychedelic riff punk over the span of six years before finally feeling worthy of sharing itself with the rest of the world. Then, it hit the asphalt. Hard.” (Willmette Week)

JEFF The Brotherhood HYPNOTIC NIGHTS CD
One of the best reviewed albums of 2012, and for good reason. It’s JEFF The Brotherhood. Here’s the CD version complete with 100% plastic jewel case! Rolling Stone gave it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars! (The album, not the jewel case) The brothers Orrall have tightened up their sound into something thicker and more cohesive while stepping further away from the looser, more psychedelic sound of Heavy Days, and in the process have stumbled into a sound that beautifully captures the aimless days of summertime. But really, that’s to be expected from an album that opens with the line, “I want a place where I can smoke meats, where I can drink and swim in the creek.” That feeling carries on into “Sixpack,” which will immediately speak to anyone who has ever been to a way-too-packed, small-town house party. Hypnotic Nights delivers all of the brilliant power pop worship that we’ve come to love from JEFF the Brotherhood, and if the album isn’t able to kick off your summer, nothing will.
JEFF the Brotherhood HYPNOTIC NIGHTS T-SHIRT
Get Hypnotic and oh so spiritual with the new JEFF the Brotherhood Hypnotic Nights t-shirt! Features a sexy lady or Jake in drag, we can’t quite tell.
JEFF The Brotherhood HYPNOTIC NIGHTS VINYL LP w/ CD and more
The LP version of Hypnotic Nights is a special package that includes a black vinyl LP, a beautiful gatefold sleeve, a CD version of the album, a color poster and a cheesy old-fashioned black and white promo photo (suitable for framing!).
“Nashville brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall want the simple things in life: to hang out with friends, to drink a ton of beer and, oh yeah, a handle on their lives and relationships. Hypnotic Nights, JEFF the Brotherhood’s sixth full-length album, aptly describes the frustration and restlessness that comes with getting older. Here, the duo shows maturation musically and lyrically, albeit wildly, proving that they are true, spirited forces to be reckoned with. (FILTER)
“it’s vintage (underlined) Rivers Cuomo whose influence can be felt most throughout the two-and-half-minutes of glee that is “Sixpack.” The distortion, the nursery-rhyme guitar lines, the daisy chains of ooooh and synth, the way Jake Orrall twists his vocals in the pre-chorus — check out one of the Brothers’ most economical and inescapable pop gems.” (SPIN)
“Zeppelin-meets-Ramones ode to getting wasted in the summer.” (FUSE) “a beer soaked anthem readymade for summertime pool parties. Musically its like a sloppier version of Wilco during Summerteeth with more unruly guitars. The tune is melodic and catchy and has a great keyboard line that is going to be tough to listen to ONLY once.” (SPACELAB)
JEFF The Brotherhood SKATEBOARD glow-in-dark
From the skateboard kings of Germany, here comes the one-of-a-kind, glow-in-the-dark JEFF The Brotherhood skate deck from MOB. JEFF The Brotherhood WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS LP+DOWNLOAD
Rolling Stone says JEFF The Brotherhood “back up the balls of this album title- the Blue Cheer-with-Neu! surge of “Mellow Out” is fast bliss” in their 3 1/2 star review in this weeks Zach Galifianakis issue, on newstands now. SPIN Magazine says “It’s as if ace classicist duo Jake and Jamin Orrall built JEFF the Brotherhood’s musical DNA from elements of rock’s greatest fellow siblings. Their pared-down arrangements and bluesy riffs recall AC/DC’s Young brothers and their fun-loving zeal is akin to honorary bros the Ramones.” This weeks Nashville Scene says “JEFF the Brotherhood’s latest shows a band ready for world domination”. Well we couldn’t agree more.
Packaged old school in a beautiful gatefold sleeve and new school with a download card inside!
JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD- HEAVY DAYS CD
Been waiting for the CD version? Well here it is, including the bonus track “Pleasure Centre”. Here’s what they’re saying about HEAVY DAYS:
Spin Magazine December issue: #1 on list of Songs You Must Hear Now! “Post-adolescent bros dig into the sweet spot between punk and hard rock”.
The new champions of good time, feel good grungy rock, complete with industrial guitar distortion and tightly packed Barracudas percussion. Jeff The Brotherhood are squeezing out the remaining warmth from this years final months, heroically preserving the summer. (Mojophenia)
Noisy, psychedelic, grungy, even ever-so-slightly post-punk, JEFF feels like a stroll through the best record collection ever (Whispers of Wire, Sonic Youth, Devo, Talking Heads, and Chisel come to mind). (Punk News)
The infectious “Bone Jam” rides a falsetto chorus like a ray of turbocharged sunshine through chugging guitar, while the “The Tropics” puts the “power” back in power ballad. (Nashville Scene)
JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD/HELL BEACH: HOLE SONGS, BLACK VINYL 7″
Surprise! If you caught JEFF The Brotherhood on their last US tour, you might have snagged a tour-only version of this split 7″ from Jake and Jamin and their friends in Hell Beach. Limited to 666 copies, we’ve got about 300 in red vinyl and the rest in black, so we’re listing them both in case you want one of each. Hand numbered and assembled, this one will go fast! JEFF The Brotherhood contributes a scorching version of “Turpentine”, while Hell Beach equals the noise with “Teenage Whore”. Come and get it. YOU ARE ORDERING THE BLACK VERSION.
JUICEBOXXX “I DON’T WANNA GO INTO THE DARKNESS” LP
The reviews are in: In a world of musical compromises, Milwaukee journeyman Juiceboxxx stands alone. “Pump It” reminds you what it was like to be a teenager: record scratching, a “Hey, ho” singalong bridge and lyrics about partying. If you were an adolescent in the 90’s, feelings of déjà vu might creep in and give you the sudden urge to listen to some Naughty by Nature.“Like A Renegade” is, hands down, the best track on the album. His style sounds less like a hodge-podge mixture of interwoven genres and more like a mixed media masterpiece. The chorus, “I got a hole in my life that I can’t escape / and now I’m living on the run like a renegade,” mixed with distorted guitars and pure emotional delivery has the potential to be a modern-day anthem for the hopeless and those in despair.” (MXDWN)
After countless singles, EPs and mixtapes, “I Don’t Wanna Go Into The Darkness” is his first official full-length, set for release July 24th as a co-venture between his own Thunder Zone label, JEFF The Brotherhood’s Infinity Cat and Gnar Tapes from Portland. American music re-imagined for a new era, “I Don’t Wanna Go Into The Darkness” is the most fully formed distillation of the Juiceboxxx vision to date. Somewhere between Def Jam and “Jack and Diane”, this is the sound of a lifetime of rap and classic rock radio, punk shows and raves. Not since peak-era Beastie Boys has rap and rock made so much sense together, but on “Darkness” they are just two elements fully integrated into a complete sound. ”I Don’t Wanna Go Into The Darkness” connects the dots between a continuum of American music running from soul and garage rock through rap, Miami bass and Chicago House. This is Mike Skinner if he were American, or Beck if he worshiped Springsteen instead of Dylan.
Black vinyl, color inner sleeve, no download card.
LOWE COUNTRY LP featuring JEFF The Brotherhood
Fiesta Red Records’ Rob Seidenberg and executive producer Gary Burnette have teamed up to release Lowe Country: The Songs of Nick Lowe. The album’s proceeds will benefit both the Nashville Rising Fund and the Central Texas Wildfire Fund. We are pretty psyched to score a few of the LP’s (rumor has it it’s a run of 300, but we’re not sure), and JEFF The Brotherhood fan’s will find a lot to love here, including great performances from Caitlin Rose and Robert Ellis. Also available in our CD department.
“Known more for his contributions to D.I.Y. punk sounds, production of Elvis Costello’s first five albums, and unrivaled lyrical sagacity, this tribute album reminds us of Nick Lowe’s roots origins and passions demonstrated in his years with the group Brinsley Schwarz—especially his affinity and reverence for country music. On Lowe Country, a fine cast of contemporary musicians, including Nashville staples such as Jeff the Brotherhood, Hayes Carll, and Caitlin Rose, showcase beautiful reinterpretations of Lowe songs. It’s a welcome salute to a prolific musician who is reaching a new height of popularity after more than four decades in the business.” -OXFORD AMERICAN
“Robert Ellis delivers a cheeky, honky-tonk-ready version of “All Men Are Liars,” drawling out comical lines like, “Girls, bring rusty pliers to pull this tooth, because all men are liars,” and the brothers Orrall kill with their combination of rag-tag basement country and ’70s glam riffage on “Mary Provost,” the tribute’s most immediately enjoyable track. Ron Sexsmith also turns in an effort worth remembering on the intimate closer “Where Is My Everything,” where he forgoes the bells and whistles of modern country for a moving and simple guitar-and-vocal rendition.” -PASTE
“nobody really knew what JEFF’s version of “Marie Provost” would sound like. Try listening to that one without cracking a smile.”- NO DEPRESSION

Monkey Bowl – Plastic 350 CD
The stunning debut album featuring “Al Gore” (featuring Al Gore), “Stupid Man Things”, “Closer” and “Be Nice To Your Parents”. Now our best selling pop album ever!!
Monkey Bowl – Ultimate CD
Yes, Monkey Bowl is back with the follow-up album to the brilliant debut “Plastic 350″. Featuring “Clear Channel”, “Trust Me, I Work For The Government”, and the soon-to-be-heard-in-a-major-motion-picture “End Title Song” (hint: it’ll play when the credits roll!)….
The New Yorker says “Monkey Bowl is a cross between the Fugs and Ali G!” Entertainment Weekly says “cast your chad for Al Gore’s vocal cameo on “Al Gore”, an homage by Tennessee band Monkey Bowl”.
Natural Child “1971″ LP
Debut LP by Natural Child. Here’s what Nashville’s Dead said: “It’d almost be easier for us to just write about the first time we saw each song played live. Like the first time we saw them play “Let It Bleed” at Mercy Lounge back last May and how we watched all the girls’ eyes get dreamy. Or maybe it’d be easier for us to talk about the importance of “Easy Street” and what that song means to Nashville and how a lot of their shows end with that song for a reason. It’s about getting famous. Or about how we heard the finished version of “The Jungle” for the first time and could make out the voice of our buddy DD666 on the track. We know that song’s not on 1971, but whatever. There’s just always an instillment of rock and roll in our heads after seeing Natural Child. Be it “Stones-y” or “stoner” or whatever, it’s still the raw rock and roll that you can’t find anywhere else right now. And in that same vein, 1971 is like a real album. It’s not a bunch of songs thrown together or a bunch of singles collected onto one LP, it’s a record that’s meant to be heard in it’s entirety and taken in as a whole.”
More reviews below…
“From the moment they thump out that infectious, sledgehammer beat, Natural Child had me in their sludgy yet vigorous, stoner-punk clutches. The Nashville, Tennessee trio’s Hard Workin’ Man is a thick-as-molasses, low-speed stomper; wicked in tone, yet with a sweetly innocent, melodic thread woven throughout. Like somewhat menacing, backwoods cousins to The Sonics and Question Mark and The Mysterians, these southern ruffians have been thoroughly steeped in 60’s garage rock and psychedelia, and from it distilled their own gnarlier, countrified rock and roll. I tend to find unabashed ganja enthusiasts refreshingly honest and slightly hilarious, so it hits me both in a soft spot and with a giggle that the band is choosing to drop their debut full-length 1971 this coming 4/20. It’s also worth mentioning that wearing their pro-cannabis freak flag on their sleeves in no way slackens the hot-wired, Big Brother and The Holding Experience-inspired, kozmic riff-funk they’re pumping out. Currently on a nationwide tour, Natural Child are working up quite the rep for mischievous onstage banter and a jovial, yet mercilessly rawkin’ good time. I suggest you catch them in a smaller venue, while you still can.” (My Old Kentucky Blog) “While I tend to shy away from calling things rock ‘n’ roll, there’s really no better way to describe the feel of Natural Child. Through boisterous vocals, a bare bones style of play and lyrics that are all the more clever for keeping it simple - you’re left with the insatiable urge to see this band live, or at the very least, crack a cold one” – RCRD LBL “One of the most exciting, energetic, and ridiculous rock sets I’d seen in a long time.” (WFMU [Beware of the Blog]) “Nashville might be known for its country, but miscreants Natural Child demonstrate that the city can bust out rugged and catchy garage rock when it wants to like its a new Detroit.” (Prefix Mag) “The Nashville band exhale equal amounts of fiery swagger and stale beer into its Southern fare, creating a wonderfully eclectic world where punk rock and country music stand toe-to-toe in a perfect swaying boozy harmony”, (Everybody Taste)

Peach Kelli Pop “S/T” LP
We are proud to bring back Peach Kelli Pop’s debut album, this time on split random swirl vinyl! Free download card included with a sweeet full-color insert. We are in love, and you will be too! “If there’s anything that will toast your buns, it’s the album equivalent of Joey Ramone and Fay Fife smashing on a pile of rainbows, amirite?” (IMPOSE) “This shit is absolutely adorable. Peach Kelli Pop is the solo project of Allie Hanlon, member of the Ottawa-based garage rock outfit the White Wires. It is lighthearted, very lo-fi, and catchy as all fuck.” (SPACE ROCK MOUNTAIN) “File this under music to beat off to. The album starts off with what sounds like really good suitcase drumming and jumps into the singer telling you about different made-up dances that she wants to do with you and also that she has a crush on you. Be still my heart.” (VICE)
“She is the drummer for the amazing band White Wires as well. On this extremely (sometimes power) pop record, every song stays in your head. Really catchy. Overall: 9.8/10 strongly recommended. I can’t praise this enough. Love it.” (HARDCORE PUNK REVIEWS)”PKP’s bubblegum pop will melt your heart into a puddle of goo… and you will beg for more! Allie and co are sure to be the stars of many a gooey teenage dream.” (OTTOWA EXPLOSION) “Super catchy lo-fi pop sounds played and recorded by Peach Kelli Pop! Do the Eggroll all the way down to the Eenie Meenie Minie Moe, this album will have you dancing in your sleep!” (BURGER RECORDS)
PUJOL “2010″ 7″
Here it is, the long awaited 7″ e.p. from PUJOL a.k.a. Daniel Pujol of MEEMAW and WIZARDZ fame!! 3 songs, and not a second of filler, this release is straight up killer. It’s 2011, and that means it’s time to own 2010. “What is known about Mr. Pujol is that he rocks hard. If you dig Wavves, you’ll probably dig Daniel Pujol. And you’ll be in on the ground level when he breaks out of Nashville. You can tell your friends in 2012, “Oh I know that guy, his 2010 work is so much more… raw.” (Speakers In Code)
Also available by PUJOL: Sexttape (Cassette) Timbre Shades Of Great (Cassette) Ringo, Where Art Thou (mp3 download) MEEMAW (7″ with CD and poster) WIZARDZ (CD)
PUJOL “RINGO, WHERE ART THOU” CD
You asked for it and we’ve brought it back, this time on CD!: “Ringo, Where Art Thou” . According to iTunes, PUJOL’s top 3 songs are “Black Rabbit”, “Too Safe” (both later re-recorded with Jack White for a Third Man 7”) and “Mission from God”. Check out the original versions right here on Ringo. Also includes the original version of “Endless Mike”- we love the new arrangement on “United States Of Being” (Saddle Creek). You’ll also hear the original “Mayday”, later re-recorded on “Nasty, Brutish and Short“ (Saddle Creek). As if that weren’t enough, Ringo includes “Strawmen In Leather”, “State Of Mind” and “Deathmask”. Act now, and you’ll also get “Typhoid Mary”! Well, you’ll get it even if you don’t act now, but why wait?
PUJOL “TIMBRE 2010 PUJOL” CD
We like to have fun. That’s why we’re here. Infinity Cat is here because we like to introduce the world to new artists, and then see what happens. Good things happen, and that’s fun. Did you know our first PUJOL release was a CD that was just given away? That’s right, we just wanted everyone to know about this amazing music. Then we followed with a split cassette “Timbre Shades Of Grey”, and a 7″ called “2010″. Well, on this CD we taken the best from all three releases and put them all in one place for your convenience and listening pleasure. From the original, very collectable first CD you’ve got “Black Rabbit Demo” and “P2P Demo”. From “Timbre Shades of Grey”, we’ve included “Johno!”, “Jimmie Rodgers”, “Jodeye”, “Reader”, “Over the Counter Culture”, and “Cultist”. And finally the three great songs (and alternate versions) of “Mission of God”, “Deathmask”, and the great “Point Of View”. As PUJOL himself says, “I walk through the alleys of the superstore trying to follow the string of assembly back to the hand of another. How many between us? Who allows me to buy what I need?” Well folks, we allow you to buy what you need. And we think you need this new CD. And you need the new album on Saddle Creek, “United States Of Being”. It’s fantastic.
PUJOL “X FILE ON MAIN ST.” CD
We’ll start by letting Daniel Pujol tell you about his debut LP for Infinity Cat: “X File On Main St. stylistically focuses on Nashville and draws from my work in MEEMAW and Saigon Baby/Wizardz. It is an aesthetic and conceptual assemblage of a lot of the recording and narrative ideas I’ve experimented with since 2007, but all at once. X File is a record for and about everything around in Nashville since I moved here in 2006. Ben Todd of Nashville’s Dead, Dillon “Angel Baby” Watson of D. Watusi, and Wez Traylor of Natural Child and MEEMAW play on it. Their science keeps me honest; the truth is way, way, out there.”
PUJOL fans can download the album on iTunes HERE. But due to popular demand, we’re happy to also bring it to you as a handmade CD, lovingly shrinkwrapped by our crack team of interns.
SKIMASK “CUTE MUTANT” LP LIM/ED 100
We love Boston. Not gonna get into all the reasons why, but the 3 of us that started Infinity Cat were born there, so…there’s that. JEFF The Brotherhood love to go to Boston, and here’s a big reason why: the good people of SKIMASK. So when they asked us to participate in a joint release of their album “Cute Mutant”, I (WE) Couldn’t Say No! (another Boston ref). And we’re so glad we did! Now we only have 100 of these (scratch that – 91 after staff purchases!). So, this may be a short post. (That means grab one now!). Oh- Opening this beautiful package is a 4 step process involving our feisty Infinity Cat D. Boone. Here is a short vid explaining how.
The Mattoid “Let’s Do The Classics” CD w/free Art Circus CD
Order now and receive a FREE copy of Art Circus, with the original version of The Mattoid’s cover of “Be Your Own Pet”. “Let’s Do The Classics” is a self-proclaimed all-time “weariest lo-fi covers album,” featuring his deconstructionist takes on pop-radio staples the likes of “Eleanor Rigby,” “Dancing Queen,” Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” and Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love”- songs he strives to prove say little when stripped of their pop melodrama.” He also takes a song from former Infinity Cat artist Art Circus, “Be Your Own Pet”- yes, the song from which the band took it’s name- and transforms it from pure cuteness to pure evil. This new Mattoid masterpiece is brought to you by the good people at Thee Swan Recording Company (www.theeswan.com), the label that brought you Dave Cloud, which you should go and buy, because you will love him.
The Mattoid is a native of Helsinki, Finland named Ville Kiviniemi. On a chance visit to Nashville TN, he was spotted by Cleft Music producer, Loney John Hutchins, who recorded his first breakthrough album, “HELLO,” on Cleft Music in 2004. Two EP’s later, Mr. Mattoid released his spiritual masterpiece, “The Glory Holy” on Infinity Cat Records. According to The Nashville Scene, Ville is leaving Nashville for his homeland: “For the better part of the last decade, that abnormal persona — a poncho-clad, crazy-eyed, comedic ogre from Finland, belting out grunts and obscenities in broken English atop a bizarre brand of cocktail-party-anti-folk — is one that fans of Nashville’s art-rock underground have come to know and love; a howling, guitar-slinging Viking they often don’t know whether to laugh at, laugh with, or just plain fear. As a swan song to his tenure in the ‘Ville, Kiviniemi is unleashing Let’s Do the Classics. He is our hero, and we will miss him. Please take this chance to pick up his masterpiece “The Glory Holy” as well!
The Mattoid – Glory Holy CD
Finnish freak-folk-rocker THE MATTOID returns with his 2nd full length album, The Glory Holy. Recorded at John Vanderslice s Tiny Telephone studio in San Francisco by engineer Jay Pellicci (Deerhoof, Erase Erata), and finished in The Mattoid s current home base of Nashville, TN with members of Silver Jews, Clem Snide, Lambchop, and Bobby Bare Jr. s Young Criminals Starvation League.
THE PAPERHEAD IMPORT LP “FOCUS IN ON THE LOOKING GLASS”
From our friends at Ample Play in London, we have a very limited amount (40) of The Paperhead’s “Focus In On The Looking Glass”. Formerly available here on cassette, now we’ve got a 12′ slab of vinyl featuring brilliant psychedelic sitar drenched poppy goodness from these fresh young Nashville lads. Recorded by the legenday David Steine of So Jazzy fame! The Paperhead will take you back in time by way of the future. Here’s what Record Collector had to say:
“If you’re over 40, you may well survey the disaffected youth of today from behind a twitched curtain and sweepingly state that what they need is no haircut and a spell in the peace corps. Good news for you, if you take that view: The Paperhead are a trio of 18-year-olds from Nashville who, unlikely as it may seem, take their name from a lyric in My Clown by late 60s UK psych oddfellows July. Better still, and yet more unlikely, they seem to have based the bedrock of their sound upon that very single: vocals through a Leslie cabinet, drums plummeting down a neighbour’s stairwell, fuzztone guitar lines as thin as a fly’s entrails, the works. Focus In On The Looking Glass would be a thing of wonder whatever its provenance, but the fact that it springs from present-day teenage Nashville adds a frisson of insular weirdness that arguably hasn’t passed this way since the early Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci releases. Symon’s Monthly Meteorological Magazine represents a lovingly uncanny evocation of Interstellar Overdrive – and if you can keep from breaking out into a beatific, shit-eating grin when the sitar and tabla come in on The Coyote, then frankly you’re made of sterner stuff than anyone here.”

UNCLE BAD TOUCH LP
It’s here! Uncle Bad Touch. The self-titled debut. We love this album! ““I’d rather die / than die a normal guy” sang Mikey Heppner under the trees. No chance of that. The Priestess metal frontman took a rad left turn into Uncle Bad Touch, his crazy garage-alt side band. Between I Wanna Love You – with bassist Kathryn McCaughey cackling the lyrics over Heppner’s crunchily attenuated lines – and Baby Baby Baby Baby, they crammed more retro-prog ideas into 2:58 than a dozen Nuggets bands. Strange City Sing To Me ranks as an early Osheaga highlight. Mikey, with his new wave haircut and vintage Harmony Bobkat, likes ragged melody lines in a tight frame, and originality. The range is extensive and ramshackle – could’ve been the band opening for Pavement or QOTSA or a Clash/Sham 69 show in ’78. Crazy good.” (MONTREAL GAZETTE)
Want more? “In the better-late-than-never department is the debut full-length from Montreal lo-fi psych band Uncle Bad Touch, released on their own Bumby label. This is grade-a, sugar-coated bubblegum/psych that is sure to get toes tappin’ as you hum along to gleaming pop gems like “Strange City, Sing to Me,” “Only With You” and “Baby Baby Baby Baby.” Priestess’s Mikey Heppner and his better half Kathryn McCaughey trade off on the lead vocals, with McCaughey in particular proudly stating she’s this year’s Maureen Tucker. If you dig the psych sounds from 1967 to 1971, this is mandatory.” (MONTREAL MIRROR)
WET ILLUSTRATED “Scorpio Wings” 7″
Get Bent sez Wet Illustrated‘s “over-achieving drive to fit big ideas into little songs served them very well” on their debut LP 1x1x1 (out on True Panther). Well our San Fran babes are back with more BIG ideas, this time in a LIL 7″! “Scorpio Wings” and “Channel Steamer” are chockfull of their “sometimes-jangly, sometimes-riffy analog-gear retro-garage boom” (Stereogum) and has the coolest, most Batman-y music video we’ve seen in a long time. Only 350 pressed so get yours while it lasts!
Wizardz – Cybersex Offender CD
Debut album (finally) by Wizardz a.k.a. Saigon Baby featuring Daniel Pujol (PUJOL, MEEMAW) on drums, Jake Orrall (JEFF The Brotherhood) on bass/vox, and Wez Traylor (Natural Child) on guitar/vox!! It’s a concept album about having sex with robots in the future. Welcome to the Sexual Reality. Not suitable for children. Handmade CD-R digipack lovingly made by our interns just for you.
